Despite your insistence that these "festive" holiday sweaters would grow on me, I am hereby declaring my firm and unwavering opposition. They are garish, hideous abominations which are an insult to both weavers and fashion-forward individuals everywhere.

Furthermore, their artless depictions of seasonal iconography have now burned themselves permanently into my retinas and do prevent me the sound rest you would otherwise have me partake in.

I've no quarrel with your eyeglasses, but for the sake of our union, do consider wearing something else.

Tasteful in theme, perhaps, if not in execution.
Would a solid or a plaid sweater not suffice? They will keep you warm and toasty just as well, and they have the distinct bonus of not offending one's senses.
