He then proceeded to laugh himself right off the edge of the bed. I left him down there, of course.

Then, as if to add insult to injury, the shadow-creatures began to pipe in with their piteous mewling. They've imprinted on my companion, you see.

So although under normal circumstances he might have taught them something useful for their survival, instead his antics and their attempts to mimic him lead to what can only be described as "The Midnight Cacophony".
