[Nevermind that this sounds like a date - of a perfectly innocent sort, since someone needs to properly educate the boy on the joys and triumphs of the stage.]

I believe a new show is about to begin for the winter holiday. We'll go on opening night. The mood is always best then because it will be the first time the actors can finally show everyone what they have been working so hard to put together.

The actors' friends will be in attendance to show their support. Lots of excitement and enthusiasm. It is the first time the actors can perform a complete show after undergoing many rehearsals - and making any number of changes and revisions to the script. (ie., to the story, the movements and dance, etc.)

Of course the first show would then be a special one.
